Trestle Board Fall 2010
Summer is over and while there were many Masonic events to participate in over the last few months, many of us have not seen each since we went dark in June. Your Lodge ended June on a high note, having raised a Master Mason before the summer recess. Brandon Tripp proved up to the applause of his brethren and has, in his short Masonic career, shown a keen interest in the Craft. We look for him to be active in the lodge in the coming years. And so the remainder of our Masonic year begins on a positive note and holds several opportunities for you to join us in Lodge before the holidays.
October 12 will be a busy evening, beginning with dinner at 6:30, with the ladies always invited. The business portion of our meeting will include the election of officers for 2011. The line looks very solid and we have candidates for all elective offices. The evening will also include a presentation by the National Sojournors.
November 9th will find us celebrating Veteran’s Day, with a special presentation by VWB Steve Pennington; a veteran and military historian. Additionally, we will be presenting several service awards. We have numerous Brothers who have reached or exceeded, 40 years, 50 years and even 60 years in Masonry. We are hoping for a good turn out for this most diverse and interesting evening. Again, we will begin with dinner at 6:30, with the ladies.
December becomes a challenge for us this year. Our stated meeting is December 14th and is usually devoted to planning the annual installation of officers. However, if the election goes as expected in October, we will be requested to hold the installation on December 11th. Should that occur, you will be notified by special mail.
We again thank everyone who contributed to the Bike for Books program this year. Due to cut backs in the Seattle Library system, we are not scheduled to participate at the Lake City Library until January 2011.
We have scheduled a Fall Cleanup Day, for Sunday, October 3, starting at 1:00 pm. We have both inside and outside projects that could use your attention.
There will be a Temple Board meeting on Sunday, October 10, at 12:00 pm.
